Restrictions on the S-Bahn from 18-23.11.2024

Due to construction work between Hannover Nordstadt and Hannover Hauptbahnhof, there will be restrictions on S-Bahn services from Monday, November 18 to Saturday, November 23. This will affect lines S1, S2, S4, S5, S21 and S51.

From Tuesday, November 19 to Friday, November 22, all journeys on the S5 line between Hanover Central Station and Hanover Airport will be canceled. A rail replacement service will be provided from Langenhagen-Pferdemarkt.

Information for arriving passengers

After the passport check you will proceed to the customs check. You will have to decide between the red "Something to declare" line and the green "Nothing to declare" line. If your are arriving from a EU member country or if you do not carry more than the permissible exempt amount, please use the green line. If you carry cash or valuables in excess of the exempt amount, please use the red line and declare the goods or cash to the customs officer.

Veterinary requirements for passengers arriving from non-EU countries

The import of animals, food or products of animal origin into the EU is strictly prohibited. You can find the regulations in detail at the veterinarian authority of the town where you stay during your visit in Germany or at the veterinarian office at the border inspection post. In addition, you can find further information on entry with a dog or cat on the website of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
